For those that have already posted, or who are reading this and haven't posted, post up if you are an original lower buyer that also got the upper. I think having an idea of group size, as well as knowing which posters have an actual stake in a potential new offering, might help Trey, Casey, and Kevin come up with a plan.

Ok, I'll play along. I have the original lower and upper sitting in my safe. To me a URX seems like the next logical choice. Rifle length would be my preference.

For the purpose of selling those dust covers only to people who still had the set, I was provided a list of people who purchased a special run upper. As everyone knows, you had to have still been in possession of your special run lower to get it. That list, including me, contains 45 people. I know for a fact that at least a few of the people on this list of 45 people are no longer in possession of the set.

Ordered mine today along with a T1 cap and bipod adapter.

It makes sense that Neil has a list of owners, it kinda sounded like he was looking my name up when I called today.

I believe I've seen posts by more than a few people in this thread and others re: buying a set or just an upper from someone. So the list of 45 people that bought special run uppers is obviously reduced by a few.

I'm still thinking the list of original lower buyers who also got in on uppers AND still have the set is going to be pretty small. 40 maybe? 30? and for 2011 it could be even fewer.

I'm frankly surprised that your list had 45 names on it. If memory serves the original lower run was for 50 pieces meaning only 5 sold theirs before the uppers were issued?

Id like to see a full rifle such as kev mentioned. Limit it to a few rifles a 100 or so and let everyone have a shot at it. I think that would be sweet.

Same here. Maybe the match rifle discussed in another thread?

I edited the thread title to say 2010. While IIRC the lower and upper were actually released in '09 and '10 the ideas forumulated in '08 and '09 so calling this years 2010 seemed more fitting.

I still have my special run lower, one of the original 50 who purchased one, never sold it. When the special run upper became avaliable I didn't purchase one. I passed at the time. It didn't fit the build I was planning. I never followed thru on my original build plans and presently have a TacSol .22 conversion upper mated to my special run lower. IIRC there were a few uppers that didn't get purchased by original lower buyers, and were offered for sale to other members who showed an interest and wanted a special run upper. It wasn't that I didn't have the funds for the purchase at the time, or missed the chance, I could have easily bought the upper and threw it in the back of my safe, or bought it and flipped it for a quick profit. I just thought at the time it would be nice to afford another BOARD member/KAC enthusist who was less fortunate the opportunity to purchase the upper. I guess the point of my post is just because someone didn't purchase a special run upper it doesn't necessarily mean that they sold their lower are no longer are in possession of it. Quite the contrary. I think the fact that Trey provides this opportunity to board members here is amazing, and I truly appriciate it. Im looking forward to any future offerings there may be. I stated in a previous post that I am now interested in a special run upper if anyone has one they would like to sell, or has a lead on one. It would be nice to keep them "in the family" so to speak. I never plan on parting with my lower, but if I did it would be offered to a board member here in this forum. Thanx.

I could be wrong, but I thought there were 100 special run lowers sold? Making the 45 names I have here much more realistic.

If you still have your lower and upper, and are on the list of orgiginal buyers I have been provided, give me a call if you want one of these dust covers.

Just a reminder to everyone, part of the agreement I made that allowed me to reporduce KACs logo at all, which as everyone knows, is certainly copyrighted, or trademarked, or whatever, was that they only be sold to people on the above mentioned list. Should I be given the go ahead by KAC to make as many as I want and sell them to whomever I want, I will. But I'm not going to ask... I was happy to be able to make the ones I did and offer them to the people who got them.

I still have my upper+ lower; I love the idea of a special run URX. Something very lightweight like the magpul URX would be amazing. I know it's not realistic, but I'd like to see something somewhere near the $250 price of the upper and lower - I am poor.

Think we'll see any "special run" items this year? Ideas on what it might be? Dreams of what it could be?

IIRC we were at $250 for the lower and a similar price for the upper, so I think hopes of anything like a barrel/bolt combo, while certainly attractive, are probably out. Maybe a KAC two-stage trigger pack? Not sure how that could be made unique for the special run group though.

Wonder too how many original owners we still have. Between people selling off the lower, and then some not getting in on the upper, I'd say the ranks of the eligible must be pretty small now. Anyone know/remember how many lowers were sold? Uppers?

I was an original lower buyer, and bought the upper to match. I have to admit I'd kind of been holding off doing anything with either in the hopes that this tradition will continue.

You need to add me to your list. And I still have both my lower and upper. 8)

I was tossing around cutting a gap behind the sight on a rifle length URXII to allow a switch-block to be manipulated, but hadn't gotten as far as researching the measurements to see if it would work.

I believe I will wait.....

....and I still have '08 & '09.

I know, a special run of Stoner 63a commando barrels for $250 ea. would be good :D
