For the purpose of selling those dust covers only to people who still had the set, I was provided a list of people who purchased a special run upper. As everyone knows, you had to have still been in possession of your special run lower to get it. That list, including me, contains 45 people. I know for a fact that at least a few of the people on this list of 45 people are no longer in possession of the set.
I still have my special run lower, one of the original 50 who purchased one, never sold it. When the special run upper became avaliable I didn't purchase one. I passed at the time. It didn't fit the build I was planning. I never followed thru on my original build plans and presently have a TacSol .22 conversion upper mated to my special run lower. IIRC there were a few uppers that didn't get purchased by original lower buyers, and were offered for sale to other members who showed an interest and wanted a special run upper. It wasn't that I didn't have the funds for the purchase at the time, or missed the chance, I could have easily bought the upper and threw it in the back of my safe, or bought it and flipped it for a quick profit. I just thought at the time it would be nice to afford another BOARD member/KAC enthusist who was less fortunate the opportunity to purchase the upper. I guess the point of my post is just because someone didn't purchase a special run upper it doesn't necessarily mean that they sold their lower are no longer are in possession of it. Quite the contrary. I think the fact that Trey provides this opportunity to board members here is amazing, and I truly appriciate it. Im looking forward to any future offerings there may be. I stated in a previous post that I am now interested in a special run upper if anyone has one they would like to sell, or has a lead on one. It would be nice to keep them "in the family" so to speak. I never plan on parting with my lower, but if I did it would be offered to a board member here in this forum. Thanx.
