Any one have any data for this round with 150 grain and up? I have some 110 grain V-Max running 1000-1050 with Red Dot. Started with some 150 grain SP's and the third shot stuck in the bore.

I picked up some AA#7 to try with the 110 grain and see if it burns any cleaner.

Gunter;
The 9th edition of Cartridges of the World lists the following loads for the 7.63 Mini Whisper.

93 gr. Norma Bullet & 7.5 gr. Clays Powder for 1727 fps
110 Speer Carbine Bullet & 7.5 gr. of Clays Powder for 1588 fps
110 Speer Carbine Bullet & 11.4 gr. of AA#7 for 1742 fps
150 Hornady FMJ & 4.5 gr. of AA#2 for 1025 fps
150 Hornady FMJ & 10.5 gr. of AA#9 for 1445 fps
168 Hornady Match & 5.2 gr. of AA#2 for 1031 fps
168 Hornady Match & 5.7 gr. of HP38 for 1035

As always, assume these to be max loads and start 10 % lower. Hope this helps. :)

I would assume that those loads under 1150 fps are not maximum & you should load more & work down so that you do not stick a bullet.

Rick983, thanks for the load data. Does it list an OAL for the 168 Hornady? I have some 168 A-Max BT that looks like it would take up a lot of case space unless the leade was increased. Right now I'm loading .050 off the lands, slight crimp (just enough to remove the bell), and no lube. Factory Winchester X 7.62x25 has a load of 8.8 gr of ? and run 1950 fps with a 85 gr FMJ through this barrel.

3101, It is a reworked older H&R open break that later became the NEF Handi-rifle. A 1-10 twist, 18 1/4" long barrel, and standard 30 Mauser chamber. I wanted to use this setup to test loads and leade. This set up is real easy to see if you stick a bullet. Later maybe a NEF Handi or a short action bolt.

Thanks for the help. I'll have to see if I can find that book.

The book does not list overall dimensions but in that short of a case I would think using a 168 gr bullet is not going to leave you much powder space. I would try the fastest powders available. Good luck with your experiments and keep us posted. :D
